Shot lengths and details

During the beginning of our film the speed of editing increases as the sequence repeats, but when it changes on the final time, the shots change. For example, when the main character is in his bed the second shot of him lasts a number of seconds, unlike the first time. And as he picks up the alarm clock the camera zooms into his face in order to emphasise to the viewer that this time something is different and that something is wrong. This slight change really switches the mood of the film from being a kind of cheery opening into something more sinister. Add that to shots such as the one where the villain walks past him in the mirror and it puts the viewer in suspense as they know someone is there but the main character doesn't.
